Find your fit
Use this guide as a practical starting point for Philologi rings, necklaces and bracelets. Measurements are approximate; for the most accurate ring fit, have your finger measured by a jeweller.
Ring size chart
Philologi rings are offered in full US sizes 6–10.
| US size | Inside diameter | Finger circumference |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 16.5 mm | 51.9 mm |
| 7 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| 8 | 18.1 mm | 57.0 mm |
| 9 | 18.9 mm | 59.5 mm |
| 10 | 19.8 mm | 62.1 mm |
How to measure a ring
Best method: measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits the intended finger. Measure straight across the widest inside point, excluding the metal, then compare the result with the chart above.
Measuring your finger: wrap a narrow strip of paper or non-stretch string around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps and measure that length in millimetres. Measure two or three times. Fingers can change size with temperature and time of day, so avoid measuring when your hands are unusually hot or cold.
If you fall between sizes, a slightly larger size is generally more comfortable, particularly for wider bands.
Necklace length guide
| Length | Approx. metric | Typical placement |
|---|---|---|
| 16 in | 40 cm | Close to the base of the neck |
| 18 in | 45 cm | Classic everyday length, around the collarbone |
| 20 in | 50.8 cm | Below the collarbone / upper chest |
| 22 in | 56 cm | Upper chest |
| 24 in | 61 cm | Mid chest |
Philologi currently carries selected necklaces at 45 cm / 18 in and 20 in / 50.8 cm. Always check the individual product page because chain lengths vary by piece.
Bracelet sizing
Measure snugly around your wrist where you plan to wear the bracelet. Add approximately 0.5–1 cm for a close fit, or 1–2 cm for a more relaxed fit. Our current tennis-bracelet styles are listed at 7 in / approximately 17.8 cm.
