A little care helps keep jewellery looking its best for longer.
Everyday care
- Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, exercising or sleeping where practical.
- Avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions, chlorine and household chemicals.
- Put jewellery on after cosmetics and fragrances have dried.
- Store pieces separately in a dry pouch or box to reduce scratching and tangling.
Sterling silver
Sterling silver may naturally oxidise or tarnish. Use a soft silver-polishing cloth and light pressure. Avoid abrasive cleaners around stones or plated surfaces.
Gold-plated pieces
Plating is not permanent. To slow wear, keep plated jewellery dry, minimise friction and avoid polishing compounds intended for solid metal.
Stones
For routine cleaning, use a soft lint-free cloth. If needed, use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap, then rinse carefully and dry thoroughly. Avoid ultrasonic or chemical cleaning unless the specific product materials are confirmed suitable.
